Wuben E7 Overview
Browsing Wuben's official website, you'll find a comprehensive selection of about four different headlamp categories, including the innovative detachable L-shaped headlamps. These versatile devices not only serve as headlamps, but can also function as traditional EDC flashlights. In this review, we'll be looking at one of the most compact and possibly smallest angle headlamps (L-shape) in Wuben's product portfolio. It features an exceptional combination of minimal weight and compact dimensions.
Package quality
As I write this, I keep referring to it as an EDC light, but it's probably better to consistently refer to it as a headlamp. The E7 came in a minimalist box and includes the following:
- Wubene E7
- P1 Headband
- Wuben 18350 battery (1100mAh)
- USB-C charging cable
- cord
- O-ring * 2
- Papers: Instructions + guarantee in one
Flashlight in use
Of course, we're talking about a headlamp, the E7 is attached to the headband with a sturdy metal clip. Although the clip has considerable rigidity, it's remarkably easy for most children to clip the E7 into it. All they have to do is gently insert the E7 and give it a light push and it's securely attached to the headband.
Thanks to this special design, it guarantees stability during activities such as jogging and makes the headlamp extremely portable. In addition, accidental bumps will not easily displace the headlamp, which should be considered an advantage.
When you want to remove the E7, a simple push on the bottom lever makes removal effortless. This process is just as straightforward for children.
For people who are accustomed to flashlights that offer one-click operation for both turning on and off, the E7 will prove remarkably user-friendly.
Another notable feature is the use of a soft rubber insert on the inside of the headband. This rubberized material is obviously designed to improve the grip of the headband on your forehead or a helmet, thus ensuring secure positioning.
Quality of construction and warranty
The E7 headlamp weighs only 80 grams (including battery) and is made of ADC12 aluminum alloy. The surface is treated with a high-efficiency electrophoretic deposition process in a corrosion-resistant black finish. This process not only improves heat dissipation but also contributes to its robust and wear-resistant properties while ensuring a comfortable grip.
Whether you're tinkering under the hood of your car, setting up a campsite, or simply looking for a convenient and safe lighting solution, the E7's magnetic mounting feature offers exceptional utility. The sturdy magnet ensures a firm and reliable connection.
In addition, the E7 headlamp features a magnetic attachment feature on its base. This innovative functionality is designed to enhance your lighting experience in different scenarios. With ease, you can attach and detach the headlamp to various metallic surfaces to get hands-free lighting exactly when you need it.
This feature positions the E7 headlamp as the choice for outdoor enthusiasts, DIYers and professionals seeking a convenient, adaptable and reliable lighting solution. Discover the convenience of magnetic attachment with the E7 headlamp and enjoy a hands-free lighting solution that is as versatile as it is practical.
Warranty: Wuben 5-year limited warranty
LED, lens and reflector
- Two OSRAM P9 white light LEDs
- Available in 6500K and 5000K versions
The E7 does not use a reflector, but rather TIR optics. TIR optical components use the principles of total internal reflection to precisely control and direct the light beam. This ability allows the E7 headlamp to provide more precise and uniform illumination. In addition, it minimizes light scattering, resulting in increased efficiency and reduced energy loss.
Compared to traditional reflector mirror designs, TIR optical components offer a more compact form factor, making the headlamp lightweight and easily portable. In addition, they reduce glare and provide a more comfortable user experience, especially during outdoor activities or longer lighting times.

Batteries & Charging
Wuben has included a rechargeable lithium-ion battery of type 18350 with an impressive total capacity of 1100mAh in the flashlight set.
The 18350 battery is not only rechargeable, but can also be charged directly in the flashlight or with your dedicated lithium-ion charger. It is important to note that these smaller batteries are more susceptible to damage from overcharging, so it is important to pay attention to the charging current (measured in mA) it receives when using a standalone charger. However, with the built-in charger, this problem is automatically solved.
When charging, a discreet red indicator behind the switch informs you of the ongoing process, which turns green when a charge status of over 90% is reached.
Charging speed: The charging speed, called charging current, is about 0.89A (890mA), which is the charging current for the flashlight when it has low battery capacity. Through practical testing, it is found that it takes about 1.25 hours to reach 90% charge, and it takes about 1.5 hours for the battery to charge from empty to fully charged.
Note: The default charging input is 5V/1A, but the charging speed may vary depending on the current charging status of the battery. Normally, charging is faster when the battery has a lower charge, and when the battery reaches its full capacity, the charging speed may be slowed down to prevent overcharging.
